The Legends Drag Show

Kierra Darshell has spent more than three decades as one of Pittsburgh’s most respected and enduring drag artists. Born and raised in the city, she earned the title of Pittsburgh’s First Lady of Drag through decades of consistent work as a performer, producer, and mentor. In 1991 she became the first Black queen crowned Miss Gay Pittsburgh, and the following year she co-founded the Tri-State All-Star Pageantry system, later expanding it to include Newcomer and Mister divisions. She has opened for major artists including Patti LaBelle, Gloria Gaynor, Martha Reeves, and Christine Ebersole, and has produced high-profile events such as the Hamilton Broadway cast party and the Kinky Boots after-party attended by Billy Porter.

Today she remains a central figure in the local scene as producer and host of the popular Saturday and Sunday Drag Brunches, Outrageous Bingo, and various community and corporate performances. She was the first drag performer featured in The Icons of Pittsburgh magazine and continues to mentor emerging artists while maintaining her own stage presence. In recent years she has produced and hosted landmark moments, including the first drag show for Highmark First Night Pittsburgh. Her career is defined less by trends than by longevity, professionalism, and a steady influence on generations of Pittsburgh performers.
